I get up and pretend I’m on the phone. “Hey. Just in the park, coming home now!” I pause for effect. “Yes, Green Tree Park! I should be home in ten.” I pause again. “Yes, Sebastian Carter, I’ll be there soon!” If anyone is actually there, I hope they feel threatened by the Carter name. I walk quickly, hearing faint noises from behind me. Turning around for the fourth time, I see a hooded figure with his hands in his pockets walking behind me. I freeze for one second and then I sprint.

“Sebastian! Someone is following me in the park, call the cops! I’ll call them too!” I shout, hoping they buy it.

I keep running and turn a corner, but as soon as I do, I’m grabbed by another body.

“Help!” I shout. A large male figure pulls me to his chest, causing my legs to dangle off the floor. He slaps his hand on my mouth. I try kicking him, but the other hooded figure emerges and holds my legs. I bite the man’s hand and manage to scream before I’m thrown on the floor. I’m picked up again and slapped on the face. I’m shocked into silence. My cheek throbs. I’m pushed against the wall and a piece of cloth is shoved into my mouth. I fight hard, managing to kick one guy in the crotch. But then, the other one punches my stomach and jaw respectively and everything goes black.

I wake up and my head is spinning. I moan out loud from the pain I’m in. I look up and absolute fear takes hold of me when I take in my surroundings. I’m in a large open space. Maybe a warehouse? It’s morning already and I shudder when I realize I’ve spent all night here. Two men took me, but they’re nowhere to be found. Who did this?!

I’m tied to a wooden chair with a gag in my mouth. I try to free my hands and the rope burn brings tears to my eyes, but I keep going. I cry as the friction burns me, but I do think it’s becoming looser. I keep going at it for a while before I give up, unable to handle the pain. I try to stand, but I end up falling on the ground with my chair.

“Well, you’re finally awake.” I hear from in front of me. I look up and see Jeremy. Why the hell would he do this?! He’s the one who bet Jax to take Selena’s virginity. And then it dawns on me … the incident with the cow blood, it wasn’t Jax’s parents like we all assumed, it was him, Jeremy.

He yanks my chair upright. “I’m glad you’re finally awake. I didn’t think you had so many friends. I need you to tell me your passcode.” He waves my phone in front of my face. Apparently, they charged it. Why would they charge it?

“N-no.” I respond.

“Yes, you will Isabel. You know, I don’t get the fuss about Selena, I personally prefer small blondes.
